Shortly after 4 p.m. yesterday a woman was assaulted and robbed by man when she left a SunTrust Bank, 1101 Azalea Ave.
The victim cashed her check inside the bank and was returning to her car when the attack and robbery occurred. The suspect punched the victim in the face and struggled with her to take her purse. He then knocked the woman to the ground and took her purse.
The suspect left the area in a gold minivan with 30-day license tags. He is described as a black male, 6 feet 2 inches tall, and 200 to 220 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue jacket and blue jeans.
